Licencing

The BBA calculates and produces bbalibor at the request of our members and for the good of the market. A selection of bbalibor rates are provided in bbalibor rates section of our website on a two month delay for a six month window.

Please note that without the express permission of the BBA, no company is allowed to display bbalibor on their website or use the data for commercial reasons.

To receive and use current or historic bbalibor data requires a licence. The BBA offer 7 different types of licence depending on your requirements.

All models include the full suite of 150 rates (and will also include future currencies to be developed). The BBA are regretfully unable to enter into agreements to distribute a subset of the bbalibor rate calculations. The rates are for 15 maturities, from overnight to 12 months, and are currently provided for 10 currencies (Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Swiss Franc, Danish Krone, Euro, Sterling, Japanese Yen, New Zealand Dollar, Swedish Krona and US Dollar).

If a company wishes to receive the rates when published at just before 12pm London Time, a Tier 1 live licence would be needed. A Tier 1 licence also allows for live redistribution. There are two other live licences: a Tier 2a which allow receipt of data at 12:30pm London Time and redistribute from 5pm, and a Live Internal Licence that receives the data also at 12:30 but allows no redistribution at any point.

If a company requires same day data, but at then end of the day then we have two licences that deliver the data at 5pm London Time, one allows for external redistribution, the other only internal.

We then have two more licences that cater for a complete set of historical rates in large files which are updated a 5pm every business day on a seven day rolling delay.

Our licences work in a tiering effect, where a higher licence will encompass all the privileges of lower licences. For example if you were to sign a Tier 3 (same day internal redistribution) licence then this would automatically give you the same privileges as a Tier 4 and 5. In effect if you had a tier 3 you would be unable to display same day data but you would be able to display historic data. The only exception to this is the Live Internal Licence.
